Lifeboats: Our lifeboat crews launch more than 20 times on average every day rescuing on average 22 people. During 2017 Lifeboats launched 8,436 times, assisting 8,072 people. Lifeguards: They patrolled over 250 beaches responding to ,,15,558 incidents assisting, 24,044 people. Flood Rescue: We have 8 flood rescue teams who are made up volunteer crew members who put in extra time and training. If thehy are needed our aim is for them to be at the incident within 6 hours of the callout and when on scene can operate for 96 hours without any outside support. Education: We visit schools, schools visit us, so we can give our "Respect the Water" "Float to Live" messages. Over the year many hundreds of thousands of people have been given this messaging and we know of people who are alive today after remembering "Float to Live".
